Developed by fellow dairy farmers from the PDPW Board of Directors, The Dairy Signal is a weekly series of free educational episodes offering insights and resources for fellow dairy farmers and other food system professionals throughout the value chain. The episodes air live from 12:00-1:00 PM CT each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; recorded sessions are available later in the day.
The Sept. 28 episode of The Dairy Signal featured Matthew Oehmichen, part owner of Short Lane Ag Supply, and David Trimner, General Manager, Miltrim Farms, Inc., Athens, Wis., sharing experiences and practical tips for manure applications to get the most fertilizer value while protecting water and other resources.
On Sept. 29, Bethany Dado-Senn, Graduate Research Assistant, Lactation Physiology, Department of Animal & Dairy Sciences, UW-Madison; Brittney Davidson, Graduate Research Assistant, Department of Animal & Dairy Sciences, UW-Madison; and Jimena Laporta, Assistant Professor Lactation Physiology, Department of Animal & Dairy Sciences; were featured in the “Rising Stars – Graduate Research Showcase” with their research on the effects of heat stress on dairy cattle and effective heat abatement strategies.
Ben Buckner, Chief Grains and Dairy Analyst at AgResource Company, returned to The Dairy Signal on Sept. 30 with a bi-weekly update on dairy markets, production and exports, along with the latest news across the industry.
Each live session offers attendees the opportunity to engage in open Q&A with the speakers through the interactive platform.
