Clearer View of Every Cow, Every Day
In-parlor camera system delivers consistent, cow-level insight after every milking to support confident herd health decisions.
Herd-i, a New Zealand-developed dairy technology company, announced the U.S. launch of the company’s cow monitoring system, powered by artificial intelligence. The technology gives producers a consistent view of every cow after every milking, helping dairy teams track herd trends, focus attention and make confident, data-driven decisions within their herd.
Cameras installed in the milking parlor exit lane record each cow after every milking. Herd-i’s proprietary AI evaluates locomotion and body condition, then delivers cow-level scores, herd trends and video through a streamlined data dashboard. Monitoring happens within the dairy’s normal milking routine, giving the team a dependable view of the herd each day.
“Finding people with the right set of skills can be a challenge for dairy producers,” said Nicole Mozeliak, Herd-i U.S. CEO. “Herd-i adds a consistent, objective set of eyes on the herd every day. Producers can quickly see which animals to focus on, while the dairy team spends more time doing the hands-on work.”
Herd-i is inviting 25 dairy operations to take an active role in the company’s American launch. Through the Founding 25 program, participating dairies receive early access to state-of-the-art technology, introductory founding pricing, direct access to the Herd-i team and the opportunity to join a select group of producers at the forefront of Herd-i’s U.S. expansion.
