How to Find Out Your Farm’s Proximity to Infected and Buffer Zones in PA

As of January 27, the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture reported a preliminary finding of H5, 2.3.4.4 in a commercial poultry flock in Lehigh County, Lynn Township. Confirmatory testing is pending. A 10 Km Control Area has been placed around the premises, which includes a 3 Km Infected Zone (IZ) and a 7 Km Buffer Zone. Dairy farms in the 3 Km Infected Zone around an infected poultry or dairy premise are required to conduct surveillance.
