Due to the ongoing severe weather conditions across the midwest and the statewide disaster emergency (EO 26-03) declared by Governor Mike Braun, the Indiana State Board of Animal Health (BOAH) is issuing a temporary variance to the rules governing timeframes for collecting raw milk from farms. This variance allows up to 72-hours between bulk milk tank pickups. This variance is effective immediately and will remain in place through midnight on January 31, 2026. 345 IAC 8-2-4(h)(5).
Additionally, Governor Braun has issued Executive Order 26‑02, temporarily waiving hours‑of‑service regulations for motor carriers and drivers transporting propane gas and crucial agricultural products.
For any questions, concerns, or requests for additional variances, contact the BOAH Dairy Division at (317) 544‑2392 during business hours or (317) 719‑8040 after hours.
