Current Grant Opportunities & Tips for Applying
Join the Center for Dairy Excellence’s next “All Things Dairy” monthly conference call on Wednesday, December 10, at 1 p.m. EST. Learn about current grant opportunities for dairy farmers, hear tips and best practices for completing grant applications, and get a brief update on highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). These monthly calls aim to provide a platform for organizations and industry partners to share timely updates, resources, programs, and upcoming events relevant to the dairy community.
During the December 10th call next week, you will hear:
- Overview of grant opportunities for dairy farmers. Melissa Anderson with the Center for Dairy Excellence will share a rundown of grant opportunities available for Pennsylvania dairy farmers, including a new Dairy Productivity Grant that supports projects that directly impact milk production on dairy operations. She will also share information about Transformation and Transition Team Grants along with Dairy Decisions Consultants (DDC) grants – and how these opportunities can help dairy producers work one-on-one with consultants and trusted advisors.
- Tips and best practices for applying for grants. Samantha Gehrett, a dairy educator from Penn State Extension, will review tips and best practices for applying for some of these current grant opportunities. She plans to share helpful advice for answering questions with detail on grant applications, telling your farm’s story and sharing how the grant addresses your needs, and customizing your application.
- What makes standout applications. A representative from the Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center (NE-DBIC) will share what they look for when reviewing grant applications and tips for creating a standout application.
