Consultant Larry Jones in New York reports on the June USDA advanced prices announced May 22. Based on the Boston price, he reports the Class I price increased $0.65/cwt. If commodity prices hold for the next two weeks, butterfat will be unchanged, protein will increase $0.15/lb. I predict a SUP (Boston) to be $18.11/cwt. This is up about $0.77/cwt. When I split apart the impact of commodities, it looks like about 29% for NFDM, 5% from whey, and 71% from butter and cheese.
