The need for blood donations is ongoing; according to the Red Cross, someone in the U.S. needs blood every two seconds. In recognition of the hard work dairy producers perform all year Professional Dairy Producers (PDP) is once again hosting their annual community Blood Drive at PDP headquarters.
“On behalf of dairy producers and dairy professionals everywhere, we intentionally choose to host this important event during June Dairy Month as a way to honor our membership and their ongoing commitment to producing wholesome food for communities near and far,” said Shelly Mayer, Slinger, Wis., dairy farmer and PDP executive director.
PDP represents dairy producers and other dairy professionals from 2,000 dairies across 36 states. The nation’s largest dairy producer-led organization of its kind, it focuses on producer professionalism, stakeholder engagement and unified outreach to share ideas, solutions, resources and experiences that help dairy producers succeed.
Donors can register for a preferred time slot here and find more details on the PDP website. Coordinated by the American Red Cross, more details on the June 18 blood drive are available by calling PDP at 800-947-7379 or emailing mail@pdpw.org.
