Kate Ziehm & Morning Ag Clips Honored With CAP CREAL Journalism Award

The CAP CREAL Journalism Award honors excellence in agricultural journalism

Morning Ag Clips has been named the recipient of the CAP CREAL Journalism Award by the New York State Agricultural Society, recognizing the platform’s dedication to delivering timely, trusted agricultural news to farming communities across the nation.

The award was presented during the Society’s 194th Annual Meeting and Agricultural Forum, held this year at the Wegmans Conference Center in Rochester. The CAP CREAL Journalism Award honors excellence in agricultural journalism and is named in memory of Harold “Cap” Creal, a farmer, New York State Agricultural Society member, and New York State Assemblyman whose legacy reflects a lifelong commitment to agriculture, public service, and advocacy.

The Annual Meeting and Agricultural Forum brought together farmers, policymakers, agribusiness leaders, and partners from across the state to explore how New York’s agriculture, food system, and natural resource industries continue to evolve amid changing policies, markets, and technologies. New York State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball delivered the 2026 State of Agriculture Address, highlighting ongoing efforts to support New York farmers and agricultural businesses.

Throughout the day, the New York State Agricultural Society recognized honorees in eight award categories, including journalism, agricultural promotion, farm safety, next generation farmers, and distinguished service. These awards celebrate individuals and organizations that have strengthened New York’s agricultural and food industries through leadership, innovation, and outreach.
