The links for the Annual Meetings of the American Jersey Cattle Association and National All-Jersey Inc., have been released.
Both meetings will be livestreamed through the American Jersey Cattle Association YouTube channel.
American Jersey Cattle Association Annual Meeting
The 153rd annual meeting of the American Jersey Cattle Association will take place on Friday, June 25, 2021, at 8:00 a.m. (CDT). (Direct link to livestream: https://youtu.be/t–YaaWZFDo) Members will elect a President and four Directors and consider any other business that may properly come before the meeting. Reports will be given by the President, Executive Secretary and Treasurer.
During the meeting, retiring directors – John Boer, Dalhart, Texas; Mark Gardner, Dayton, Pa.; and Sheldon “Tom” Sawyer, Walpole, N.H. – will be honored for their years of service.
Four cows and their owners will be recognized for production achievements in 2020. Leading Living Lifetime production achievements will be recognized with the presentation of the Ogston Farm Trophy, High Lawn Farm Trophy, and Edyvean Farm Trophy to the highest milk, fat and protein production cows in the breed. 4W Pusher Lizzie, owned by Brittany Core, Salvisa, Ky., is receiving the Ogston Farm Trophy for her lifetime milk totals of 312,124 lbs.
Dutch Hollow Rebel Diva-P will receive the High Lawn and Edyvean trophies for the second year for producing 16,781 lbs. fat and 11,245 lbs. protein as of December 31, 2020. She is bred and owned by Karin Chittenden Couch, Schodack Landing, N.Y.
Being honored with the President’s Trophy is Cinnamon Ridge Method Bulgaria for the highest mature equivalent (m.e.) protein yield in 2020 of 1,380 lbs. She was bred by Kara Alice Maxwell, Donahue, Iowa, and is now owned by Amy Maxwell, Donahue.
The Hilmar Cheese Award is being presented to SLJ AJ Weijah, owned by Maelee Clark, Seneca, Mo. The award recognizes the highest amount of actual cheese yield in 2020. “Weijah” produced 4,694 lbs. of cheese.
National All-Jersey Inc. Annual Meeting
The 63rd annual meeting of National All-Jersey Inc. (NAJ), will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 8:00 a.m. (CDT) (Direct link to livestream: https://youtu.be/BgHUxymr874). Members will elect a Director from District #2 and District #3, receive reports of the officers and General Manager and consider any other business that may properly come before the meeting. Calvin Graber, Hurley, S.D., will be recognized for his many years of service to the NAJ board as he retires from service.
The latest on national dairy policy from Washington D.C., will be discussed by Charlie Garrison, founder and president of The Garrison Group LLC, during the NAJ annual meeting.
Founded in 1997, The Garrison Group is a Washington, D.C.-based public affairs firm specializing in food, agriculture and energy policy and communications. Garrison provides regular briefings on legislative affairs to the NAJ Board of Directors and coordinated the three Congressional fly-ins organized for NAJ and AJCA members since 2014.
Garrison was raised on a central Indiana dairy and row crop farm and earned a B.S. in Animal Science from Purdue University. After 10 years as a partner in the family farm, he accepted a staff position in Chicago with the Beef Industry Council, the checkoff funded promotion and research arm of the beef industry that is now part of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. While in Chicago he studied at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. In 1992, Garrison moved to Washington, D.C. to create the position of Director of Industry Relations for the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board. He remained in that role during and after the merger of the National Dairy Board staff and programs into Dairy Management Inc. (DMI).
National All-Jersey Inc. (NAJ) was formed December 9, 1957, by the American Jersey Cattle Association, the oldest dairy breed registry organization in the United States. NAJ’s mission is two-fold: to increase the value of and demand for Jersey milk and to promote equity in milk pricing. It is the only organization that represents milk marketing concerns for owners of a single dairy breed. It functions cooperatively with the AJCA by sharing several Directors, Officers, and staff personnel, and occupies joint headquarters offices in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
National Heifer Sale to be Broadcast Live on Friday, June 25

Twenty-six lots of elite Jersey genetic heifers will be offered in the 64th National Heifer Sale. The sale will feature five heifers with genomic Jersey Performance Indexes over 140. There are seven lots exceeding +$500CM, and another 10 ranging from $450-$499CM.
The National Heifer Sale has been the single largest contributor to the national youth development activities sponsored by the American Jersey Cattle Association. Since the sale’s inception in 1958, it has been standard for each consignor to donate 10% of each animal’s selling price to the youth programs.
