- If you are approached for an interview or comment by someone you are unfamiliar with, we recommend you consider declining or first request support from Expo staff, and that you are aware of your rights. You have the right to decline participation. Remain calm and simply say: “I’m focused on World Dairy Expo and don’t have time or am not interested in an interview, thank you. If you are interested in an interview, you can contact Expo staff.” It is not recommended to say, “No comment.”
- If you encounter people actively protesting on the grounds of World Dairy Expo, please do not engage. Alert show management and/or security immediately by calling (608) 224-6455. Please provide your location on grounds and a description of the protestors.
- We know that the dairy cattle exhibited at World Dairy Expo are provided with the best care. Please be aware of how movement and management of cattle while at Expo might be interpreted by someone who wishes ill will against our industry. It is not uncommon for “undercover videos” to be filmed at Expo.
- Lastly, we know there has been an active conversation surrounding the potential presence of a plant-based beverage company at World Dairy Expo 2022. They no longer intend to film at Expo but will likely have a company representative on-site looking to engage in conversations off-camera related to the dairy industry. Remember, you have the right to remove yourself from the situation and conversation.
We hope this information helps you to have a wonderful World Dairy Expo experience!
