Free online episodes offer insights to help producers make informed decisions
Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers and Randy Romanski, Secretary-Designee of the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection will join The Dairy Signal to provide an update on the state’s investment in the dairy and agricultural industries.
Liz Griffith, Market Development, Human Resource Consultant, Encore Consultants, will introduce the concept of a “stay interview” for employers to understand why employees stay at a job and what might cause them to leave. And, Dan Basse, Economist and President of AgResource Company, will return to provide a market update and analysis of the most recent agricultural trends.
Developed by fellow dairy farmers from the PDPW Board of Directors, The Dairy Signal is a weekly series of free educational episodes offering insights and resources for fellow dairy farmers and other food system professionals throughout the value chain. The episodes air live from 12:00-1:00 PM CT each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; recorded sessions are available later in the day.
On the Mar. 23 episode, Will Babler, Principal, Atten Babler Commodities LLC, returned to look at risk management from a practical standpoint, reviewing and tracking examples of past programs, then considering new fundamentals and new opportunities. Paul Bleiberg, Senior Vice President, Government Relations, National Milk Producers Federation, provided an update on Mar. 24 on the new administration and legislative and policy updates from Washington, D.C., including possible impacts on the dairy industry.
Matthew Oehmichen, part owner of Short Lane Ag Supply, and Peter Graff, dairy producer from Stetsonville, Wis., joined The Dairy Signal on Mar. 25 to share experiences with cover crops, soil health and working with a community watershed program to manage farm landscape systems.
Each live session offers attendees the opportunity to engage in open Q&A with the speakers through the newly-updated interactive platform.
