Non-traditional cheeses for dairy processors the focus of extension webinar

Penn State Extension will host a webinar for dairy processors focused on how to expand their cheese offerings and stand out in a competitive marketplace, including talks from a panel of experienced cheesemakers.

The “Opportunities with Non-Traditional Cheeses” webinar will occur from noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 3.

Participants will gain insights into how non-traditional cheeses can create new opportunities for their dairy processing businesses.

A panel of experienced cheesemakers who have successfully incorporated unique varieties, including quark, Oaxaca and other specialty cheeses, into their product lines will share practical insights on product development, processing considerations, consumer demand and effective marketing strategies.

Among other topics, attendees will learn:

— Market opportunities and consumer trends for non-traditional cheeses.

— Ways non-traditional cheeses can complement existing product lines.

— Marketing and sales strategies for promoting non-traditional cheeses.

— Common challenges and key success factors shared by experienced cheesemakers.

Penn State Extension offers this event at no charge. Organizers note that space is limited, so pre-registration by Sept. 3 is required.

Registration is required to receive the link to access the webinar. A link to the recorded webinar will be emailed to registrants within 10 business days after the live event. The recording will be accessible for six months from the event date.
