The workshops should last approximately 2.5 hours with registration beginning before the event begins with a tour, discussions, and presentations.
September 21 Viroqua, WI at 5:30 p.m.
Brian and Lori McCulloh of Woodhill Farms will host the Wednesday, September 21 event at S7589 Tainter Hollow Rd, Viroqua, WI. Registration will begin at 5:15 pm and the program promptly starts at 5:30 pm. The Vernon County Cattlemen’s and the Western Wisconsin Beef Producers are sponsoring a light supper at the workshop. September 26 Independence, WI at 5:30 p.m.
Jim Ellis Farm, S 1622 County Rd CC, Independence, WI will be the host on Monday, September 26. Registration will begin at 5:15 pm and the program promptly starts at 5:30 pm. Western Wisconsin Beef Producers are sponsoring snacks at the workshop. Contact the Buffalo County Extension Office at 608-685-6256 by September 23 to pre-register.
October 1 Mauston, WI at 10 a.m.
Kevin Ruland and Hollow Point Angus, W8009 Wells Rd., Mauston, WI will be the host and location on Saturday, October 1. Registration will begin at 9:45 am with the program promptly starting at 10:00 and concluding by 12.30 pm. Lunch is available for purchase immediately following the program. Contact the Taylor County Extension Office at 715-748-3327 ext. 3 by September 23 to pre-register.
When pre-registering for the On-Farm Cow-Calf Workshops please leave your name, phone number, and number attending. Extension reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to low pre-registration or other reasons and will contact those that have pre-registered in the event of cancellation.
Workshop presenters are: UW Extension Agriculture Educators Sandy Stuttgen DVM, Carolyn Ihde, Amanda Cauffman, and Bill Halfman, Division of Extension Beef Outreach Specialist, with host farms sharing their experiences with their facilities including what they would like to change. Extension is scheduling additional cow-calf workshops in the northwest and northeast Wisconsin during November and December and those details will be announced as soon as they are finalized.
