One-day on-farm program offered

Cornell CALS PRO-DAIRY


This one-day program provides on-farm training for dairy farm employees and managers who want to learn more about and improve the feeding process. Each site will feature hands-on activities and demonstrations, presented in both English and Spanish.

  • Economics and importance of feeder center analysis
  • Dry Matter and feeder math-basics, how to measure, work it into ratio, refusals, adjust ration based on DM, feed software
  • Feed consistency – TMR audits
  • Troubleshooting mixer wagons
  • Bunker management, drone demonstration/map out bunk, bunk silo management, packing
  • Density and preservation
  • Safety
