The Agricultural Workforce Development Council (AWDC) is delighted to remind our audience that Labor Roadshow VIII is this month! With the event just around the corner, it’s time to secure your spot for a series of crucial sessions that will provide valuable insights into the workforce challenges facing today’s agricultural industry.

This year’s Labor Roadshow VIII will be held both in-person and virtually, offering comprehensive sessions that cover key topics for farm employers. In-person events will take place at two locations:

  • December 11, 2024 – Hudson Valley Community College, Troy, NY
  • December 13, 2024 – Cornell Agritech, Geneva, NY Time: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM

For those who cannot attend in person, online sessions will be held on December 17 and 18, 2024, focusing on topics distinct from the in-person events.

Online Sessions:

  • December 17, 2024: Noon – 2:00 PM
  • December 18, 2024: Noon – 2:00 PM

By registering for Labor Roadshow VIII, participants will gain access to one in-person event of their choice, a recording of an in-person session, and all online sessions on December 17 and 18. Topics will cover essential areas such as:

  • Overtime and payroll compliance
  • Union organizing updates and management strategies
  • Leadership and language learning opportunities for English- and Spanish-speaking supervisors and managers
  • Heat safety and compliance
  • Benefits for farm employees
  • Farm safety, risk management, and insurance
  • Farm employee housing management
