On 30 and 31 March 2022, Kaesler Nutrition, the manufacturer of feed additives is inviting you to the Kaesler Forum 2022 in Berlin. Experts from science and the field will meet for extensive discussions on the role that animal farming plays in the development of antibiotic resistance and what alternatives are available on the market. The aim is to find solutions that reduce the use of antibiotics in livestock farming and help maintain their effectiveness in the future.
The forum is aimed at anyone who is interested in the current state of science and would like to reduce the use of antibiotics in livestock farming. 14 scientists will present their latest studies and submit their findings for discussion. “We are convinced that only the intensive exchange of scientific findings and controversial discussions can provide answers and solutions to this complex issue. We want to call for submissions and invite participants to take part in this discussion. The Kaesler Forum 2022 will bring together scientists, experts in the field and representatives from public organisations to discuss the latest findings on the use of antibiotics in livestock farming and the associated challenges in a way that will be controversial: how can we further reduce the use of antibiotics without neglecting animal welfare? What are the current researches and plans, what are alternatives and solutions for the future?” explains Sadjad Danesh Mesgaran, Technical Service Manager at Kaesler Nutrition, who is responsible for the scientific programme planning for the event.
The Kaesler Research Award is presented at the Kaesler Forum to motivate scientists to maintain the focus on the topic and to reward them for their valuable work. Here, young scientists have the opportunity to present their current research on antibiotic reduction as a showcase to the scientific advisory board and experts from industry. Abstracts can be submitted on the event’s homepage.

Kaesler Nutrition has a long tradition with over 50 years of expertise in feed additives: founded in 1967 by Heinz Lohmann, Lohmann Tierernährung is considered one of the pioneers of modern animal farming in Europe. Kaesler Nutrition GmbH, the company we know today was created in 2014 when Dr Bruno Kaesler bought out the Lohmann animal nutrition business from Lohmann SE. The portfolio includes essential components including vitamins and amino acids and specialised feed additives such as enzymes, natural antioxidants and flavours, and even drinking water applications for farms. The concepts are effective building blocks for profitability, animal health, emission reduction and the efficient use of resources in animal nutrition, and are thus a key to economic and socially accepted livestock farming. Nearly 160 people are employed at the headquarters in Cuxhaven and the worldwide agencies, and the research department was founded in Bremerhaven in 2016. An interdisciplinary team of chemists, process engineers and biochemists analyses, researches and tests additives under laboratory conditions. The Kaesler Research Institute was founded in 2020, where scientists focus their research work on three areas of expertise: liquid formulations, solid formulations and biotechnological / nature-based production processes.
