Tell Congress to Pass a 5-Year Farm Bill

American Farm Bureau Federation

The House is expected to consider a new five-year farm bill, the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 (H.R. 7567), during the week of April 27.

Why this matters: Farmers and ranchers have been operating without the certainty of a long-term farm bill since 2023. At the same time, they are facing low commodity prices, rising input costs, and inflation. Without action, farm families risk losing access to critical programs that support their operations and rural communities.

What’s in the bill: This legislation strengthens the farm safety net and makes important investments in conservation, trade, nutrition, research and rural development. It also improves access to credit and expands crop insurance options for producers, including those who grow specialty crops.

What you can do: Now is the time to act. Congress needs to hear directly from you.

Contact your members of Congress today and urge them to pass a modern, five-year farm bill that supports farmers, strengthens rural communities and protects our nation’s food supply.

Your voice matters, and your outreach can make the difference as this bill moves forward.

Thank you for standing up for agriculture.
