
Travis Jones, a seasoned professional with extensive experience in agriculture, public policy, and strategic planning, is poised to lead IMPA toward new horizons. As an alumnus of the University of Idaho with a degree in agriculture economics, Jones brings a wealth of knowledge and a profound understanding of the dairy sector. His distinguished career includes roles such as chairing the University of Idaho’s College of Agriculture’s Dean’s Advisory Board, participating as a graduate of Leadership Idaho Agriculture’s class 28, and serving as an active member of the Food Producers of Idaho. In his current role as a Principal at Riley Stegner & Associates, Jones has been a fervent advocate for Idaho’s natural resources and agricultural interests.
In his new capacity, Jones will report directly to the IMPA’s Board of Directors, steering the association’s efforts both locally and nationally. His responsibilities include implementing the board’s vision, planning the annual summer conference, and above all, nurturing and expanding IMPA’s regional membership.
Shawn Burton, current IMPA President, expressed his enthusiasm for Jones’s appointment: “Idaho and Utah’s milk processing landscape is vibrant and full of potential. As a major milk-producing area, our processors supply the nation and the world with highly nutritious products. Hiring an Executive Director demonstrates our committed confidence in achieving a stronger future for each member. I see our region as a true leader in dairy, and in the face of rapid industry changes, Travis Jones is the ideal person to support our membership, helping them navigate change and innovate for the future.”

Celebrating its 95th year, IMPA, a non-profit organization, diligently works to promote the Idaho dairy industry. Its mission encompasses advancing Idaho’s dairy sector and collaborating with organizations dedicated to the industry’s development. The IMPA holds annual conventions discussing pertinent topics in milk and dairy product processing and unifies members in addressing issues critical to the dairy community. Comprising processing, distribution, and inspection members and associate members from related sectors, IMPA is a cornerstone in advocating for a sustainable and thriving Idaho dairy industry.
