Tru Moo Helps Fuel Runners at Denver Colfax Marathon

MilkPEP

As part of Milk’s continued commitment to sponsor every woman running a marathon, Milk is coming to the  Denver Colfax Marathon as an official sponsor this year. Tru Moo will be providing chocolate milk to help runners refuel, rehydrate and recover at a variety of events in the lead up to and post-marathon.

Milk is sponsoring every woman running the Denver Colfax Marathon – from expert advice before the race and, to on the ground support at the Denver Colfax Marathon, to a cheer squad along the route and, to a recovery zone complete with Tru Moo chocolate milk at the finish line, Milk is not just sponsoring the race – they are sponsoring the runner. The female runner (did you know that only 7% of the 30 billion dollar sponsorship industry goes to sportswomen?).

But even better, when you sign up for #TeamMilk, your run supports her run through the Every Woman Sponsored fund in partnership with Girls on the Run, an organization dedicated to empowering girls through running. For every woman that signs up, Milk will make a donation in an effort to reach their goal of $1,000,000.

Milk has surprising benefits for runners with nutrients that both fuel their runs, help them stay hydrated (even better than water!), and help their bodies recover efficiently and help prevent next day muscle soreness. To learn more about what Milk is doing (and it’s a lot!) see below. We hope that you can cove and would be happy to coordinate an interview with our nutritionist who can speak to why milk is the perfect pre and post fuel.

Why Milk for Runners?

Research shows dairy milk is a great nutritional partner during your marathon training! Incorporating real milk into your morning routine like in your oats, shakes, smoothies, and cereals tops off your nutrient levels first thing and helps provide sustained energy to fuel your runs. Drinking chocolate milk post-run can help you refuel, repair and rebuild tired muscles, rehydrate (even better than water!) and even help prevent muscle soreness.
