Using QuickBooks to Manage Your Farm Business: Instructor-Guided

Learn basic accounting principles and QuickBooks to run your farm business. This course includes instructor interaction and webinars.

Course Dates

  • March 2023: The course opens on 3/7; webinars on 3/21, 3/28, 4/4, 4/11 from 6pm to 7pm EST.
  • October 2023: The course opens on 10/12; webinars on 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, and 11/16 from 6pm to 7pm EST.

This online, instructor-led course teaches you how to set up and maintain your financial records using the QuickBooks® software. You’ll learn how to create and use the Chart of Accounts, and Customer and Vendor centers. You will learn how to track assets, pay bills, and manage loans. You’ll also learn to use these features to build a cash flow statement, balance sheet, and income statement. This course includes educational videos, readings, and practice questions that you can complete on your own. There are four instructor-led live webinars, during which the instructor will present additional examples and answer questions.The webinars will also be recorded for you to view after.

This course also contains a case study so you can practice using QuickBooks without jeopardizing your own financial information. At the end of each section, your instructor will explain the assignment in one video and show you how the assignment can be completed in another video. You do not need to have QuickBooks installed in order to participate in this course. If you do not have the software or are using QuickBooks online, do not download the Case Farm. The course includes a certificate of completion that you can earn by passing a final quiz with a score of 80% or better.The certificate is based on the concepts presented in the course and you do not have to complete the case study in order to earn your certificate.

To participate in the instructor-led portion of the course, choose the option with your desired start date. All options include the six-section online course and four webinars. Specific Zoom locations for the webinars will be provided in the online course.
