Farm owners and managers can prepare for workplace performance and conduct challenges through a new free, interactive webinar series, “Protecting Your Farm with Progressive Employee Discipline,” offered Mondays throughout November.
The five-part series is designed to help agricultural employers understand and implement effective progressive employee discipline systems. Participants will explore the fundamental and legal principles of progressive discipline, from addressing performance and conduct concerns to navigating employee termination.
The series is open to all farm types and will include a special focus on progressive discipline considerations for H-2A employees on fruit industry farms.
Each interactive session will provide participants with opportunities to engage directly with instructors and other agricultural employers, share strategies, and receive feedback on real-world workplace challenges.

Explore why timely, constructive feedback matters and learn practical strategies for communicating effectively with employees.

Discuss best practices for respectful and professional separation conversations, including important legal and organizational considerations.

Special Issues in Discipline and Termination
Examine H-2A considerations, discrimination, documentation, legal preparedness, and other issues that may arise when disciplining or terminating an H-2A employee.
November 30 | 1 p.m. ET
Employee Handbooks + Labor Roadshow Kick-Off
Learn about policies every New York State employer needs, along with best-practice policies addressing employee discipline and termination.
The November 30 session will also serve as a special joint program with the Agricultural Workforce Development Council of New York State’s Labor Roadshow Kick-Off Webinar. Participants are invited to stay for an additional hour of free Labor Roadshow programming and learn more about the in-person Labor Roadshow events taking place across New York in December.
