Dr. Marin Bozic, a nationally recognized agricultural economist at the University of Minnesota, gave a presentation to members of Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative on Sept. 30 at World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wis.

A video recording of the 50-minute event is now accessible on YouTube.

The nation’s milk pricing system has come under intense scrutiny during the pandemic after farmers began losing out on revenue.

Bozic discussed trends as well as ideas about potential reforms to the Federal Milk Marketing Orders. He also reviewed a proposal for improvements that was developed by several Midwestern groups, including Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative.

Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative provides dairy farmers throughout the Midwest with a powerful voice — the voice of milk — in Congress, with customers and within their communities. Edge, based in Green Bay, Wis., is one of the top cooperatives in the country based on milk volume. Member farms are located in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. More information: www.voiceofmilk.com.
