Course Summary

Presented as a partnership of Cornell University and Miner Institute, this Basic Dairy Nutrition Shortcourse will cover basic principles of dairy cattle nutrition and their application within dairy herd management. It is designed primarily for beginning nutritionists and allied industry professionals seeking a more comprehensive foundation or a refresher in dairy cattle nutrition.

This program has been taught in-person every other year at Miner Institute since 1997 and in 2021, we are offering this course for the first time in an online, virtual format with weekly opportunities for live interaction with speakers.

Format

This is a six-week course offered online through Moodle, an online interface that organizes course content by week and can be accessed whenever is convenient to the participant. Each week consists of pre-recorded video lectures to view online and additional supplemental electronic materials that may be downloaded. A weekly live webinar with speakers provides an opportunity to ask questions and have further discussion on that week’s topics.
