California Farm Bureau has endorsed Megan Dahle for election to the state Assembly

Citing her experience as a farmer, small-business owner and local elected official, the California Farm Bureau Federation has endorsed Megan Dahle for election to the state Assembly. Dahle, R-Bieber, seeks election in Assembly District 1, which includes all or parts of Butte, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra and Siskiyou counties.

In a special election Aug. 27, Dahle will be among candidates to fill the Assembly seat vacated when her husband, Brian Dahle, won election to the state Senate in June. Megan Dahle and her husband grow dryland wheat for seed, and operate a seed-sales business. She is a former president of the Big Valley Joint Unified School District Board of Trustees in Bieber.

“As a successful farmer and business owner, Megan Dahle understands how government policies can allow rural economies to thrive or can stifle their growth,” CFBF President Jamie Johansson said. “She understands how state government can affect land use, timber management, property rights, water storage and other crucial issues for the North State. She will be an excellent representative for her district.”

The California Farm Bureau Federation works to protect family farms and ranches on behalf of nearly 36,000 members statewide and as part of a nationwide network of nearly 5.6 million Farm Bureau members.
