The Michigan State University Department of Animal Science is now accepting nominations for the 2027 Dairy Farm of the Year Award.
Established in 1958, the Dairy Farm of the Year Award recognizes a farmer, farm family or farm partners who demonstrate excellence in dairy production while contributing meaningful leadership to the industry and their local communities. It remains the highest honor presented by the MSU Department of Animal Science to Michigan dairy producers.
Nominations should be submitted to Miriam Weber Nielsen, chair of the selection committee, at msw@msu.edu by Sept. 15, 2026. Download the nomination form here.
The 2027 honoree will be announced in advance of the Great Lakes Regional Dairy Conference and formally recognized at the Michigan Dairy Industry Banquet.
A portrait of the award recipient will be displayed in the Farm Bureau Pavilion on the MSU campus. Local media outlets and state legislators will also be notified of the recognition.
