The University of Minnesota Extension will host a commercial dairy goat operation webinar on Thursday, May 12, starting at 7:30 p.m. The webinar will showcase a virtual tour of a dairy goat operation and highlight important topics such as facilities, milking equipment, farm/processor relationship, keys to success and more. Sheep and goat producers, 4-H and FFA members, and consumers are invited to attend to learn more about a successful commercial dairy goat operation.

The featured speaker is Sherry Panuska, owner and manager of Sherry’s Saanens, LaManchas and Sables in rural New Richland, MN. Sherry’s handful of Saanens started out as an innocent hobby farm project in the late 70s and has grown into a commercial dairy with three breeds today. Not only are Sherry’s high-producing dairy goats consistently found on the Top 10 Production lists, they are also competitive in the show ring. Hear from Sherry as she shares how she turned her hobby farm into a successful commercial goat dairy and view a tour of her farm.

Pre-registration is required at https://z.umn.edu/dairygoatoperation. Registered attendees will receive the Zoom link immediately upon registration.
