Feeling the Language or Culture Gap? Get $200 Discount on “Spanish for Dairy” Course

Center for Dairy Excellence

If you’ve felt the language or culture gap on your farm or in your agricultural workplace, don’t forget to sign up by Sept. 18 to get a $200 discount on Katie Dotterer’s “Spanish for Dairy” fall courseHere’s a message from Katie:

“I lost a whole tank of milk because they didn’t understand the protocol.”

That is the kind of story AgvoKate students have shared with me. And it is exactly why this work matters. Through AgvoKate, I’ve heard stories that still stop me in my tracks.

“That cow died because no one was able to communicate how to give an IV.”

These are not small misunderstandings. They are moments that affect animals, people, safety, trust, money, and how teams work together every single day.

For 30+ years, I was a first- and third-generation dairy farmer. At one point, 83% of my team were native Spanish speakers. I lived the communication gap firsthand. In the barn, in the parlor, in herd health conversations, in protocols, in training, and in all the everyday moments when clear communication mattered most.

I saw good people on both sides trying their best. I also saw what happened when the words weren’t there. So I went back to school between chores. I earned a degree and certification in Education, Spanish, and ESL. And when I couldn’t find the practical, agriculture-specific language training I knew this industry needed, I built it myself.

Not generic Spanish.
Not random textbook phrases.
Not endless grammar.
Spanish and ESL training built for agriculture from day one.

Today, AgvoKate has trained 1,000+ adults across dairy, poultry, swine, produce, and other agricultural sectors. Because this work has never just been about vocabulary.

It’s about safer teams.
Clearer protocols.
Stronger relationships.
More confidence.
And real conversations between the people doing the work every single day.
