Hosted by the Professional Dairy Managers of Pennsylvania and Center for Dairy Excellence, we have exciting keynote sessions planned for you this year – including a producer panel discussion on profitability, a producer showcase from the 2024 Young Dairy Farmer of the Year, and a movie night featuring the World Without Cows documentary.
This year, a feature-length documentary called World Without Cows will have its PA debut on the Dairy Summit stage. Amid narrow views about cows and climate change, two award-winning journalists began a journey that would take them from the heartland of the United States to Kenya, India, Brazil and beyond as they sought to answer one seemingly simple question: “Are we better off in a world without cows?” The answer is not black and white. Through interviews with farmers, ranchers, scientists and others on the front lines of agriculture and science, award-winning journalists Michelle Michael and Brandon Whitworth take viewers on a global journey to deepen their understanding of everything cows contribute and what the world might look like without them.
On Wednesday evening, Summit attendees will enjoy a special screeningof the documentary, which is included with your Summit registration.
After the screening, on Thurs. morning, both filmographers and Dr. Holder Vaughn will lead a keynote session titled “World Without Cows – A Deeper Dive Behind the Scenes” where they will dive into their journey traveling to 40 locations around the world and interviewing those on the frontlines of agriculture.
This should be a thought-provoking conversation about the impact of cattle on economies, ecosystems, cultures and human nutrition.
