Shelia Mauree Holland Hilvers entered into the gates of eternity September 9, 2021.

She was born December 16, 1953 to Roy and Deloris Holland in Chino California. She is preceded in death by Roy and Deloris, her sister Cheryl, brothers Jerry, Jimmie, Tommy, and Richard Holland. Shelia graduated from Chino High School, which is where she met the love of her life, Nick Hilvers. They were married on June 17, 1971. They were married for 50 years, and she was a wonderful wife and life partner to Nick. She was an amazing mother to her four kids, Nick (Tricia) Hilvers, Jef (Kristy) Hilvers, Chad (Kris) Hilvers, and Lori (Morgan) Jones.
Shelia was the proud grandmother to 15 grandkids, 3 grand children-in-laws, and was excited to meet her three great-granddaughters coming later this year. Shelia was often found in the stands of various sporting events cheering her grandkids on. She loved serving the Lord and was involved in many things working towards his Glory. Shelia served in the women’s bible study at Tulare Community Church, Teens Encounter Christ (TEC) in California and Thailand, several prayer groups, Better Together groups, Christmas Child, trips to Mexico with House of Hope, food relief in New York with Chad, and many trips to China to visit her daughter Lori and family.
Shelia worked alongside Nick in their family business (Hilvers Construction) with their sons for many years. We know that she touched the lives of many during her time here on Earth. Shelia most enjoyed biking, and spent many miles with her friends and husband Nick as they rode across the state and everywhere they could, wherever she and Nick went their bikes were with them. She and her biking group were regulars at Maverick’s coffee, but she loved biking along the coast with Nick in Moro Bay the most. Shelia gave a short fight for her life, and in her last moments she was surrounded with the love of her husband, sons, and daughter on FaceTime. She left for heaven peacefully.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Tulare Community Church at 1820 N Gem Street and designated for one of Shelia’s favorite charities, Samaritan’s Purse, Lori Jones, or TEC. Our family appreciates the love and support of our church family and community, and we thank you. Graveside services were held at North Tulare Public Cemetery.
