Plan to Attend the Western Dairy Management Conference

This popular event is in-person Nov. 1 – 4 at the Peppermill in Reno, Nevada

The program for the popular Western Dairy Management Conference is set for Nov. 1 – 4 at the Peppermill Resort, Spa and Casino in Reno, Nev. A full complement of speakers, panel discussions and sponsor presentations is planned, according to conference co-chairman Dr. Mike Brouk.

Full details for conference registration and hotel reservations are shown on the conference website at www.wdmc.org. Early bird conference registration pricing is $390 per person and will end on Oct. 8. Included for this price are three breakfasts, two lunches, refreshments for two breaks and a copy of the conference proceedings. The price for post-secondary student registration is $200. Additional copies of the program which includes hard copies of all the presentations are priced at $28.

October 8 is also the cut-off date for hotel reservations. Room rates booked through the conference website range from $89 to $129 depending on accommodations. Under the heading “The Champions Code,” motivational speaker Ross Bernstein leads of on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 2.  As a sought after motivational keynote speaker, Ross speaks to corporations and groups around the country about the inspirational legacy of his late friend and mentor, Herb Brooks, the coach of the fabled gold medal winning 1980 “Miracle on Ice” hockey team. Ross, who had actually been working with Brooks on writing a series of motivational/self-help books at the time of his tragic passing in 2003, honors the legacy of his friend and mentor through a program based on the topics of Passions and Legacies entitled: “When it Comes to Team-Building, Leadership & Motivation, Do you Believe in Miracles?”

The best-selling author of more than 40 sports books and has appeared on thousands of local and national television and radio programs over his career, including CNN, NPR and ESPN, as well as on the covers of the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and USA Today.

Putting many of the life-lessons and ideologies he learned from the fiery coach into a practical business application, Ross’ interactive, entertaining and thought-provoking presentation aims to inspire others to follow their dreams and maybe, just maybe, even create their own miracles.

The WDMC, often called “the large herd conference,” is held in alternating years, usually in the early spring. Conference organizers held the regular planning session meeting with the committee in January 2020, just before shut downs for the pandemic. But in looking at the in-person event, it was judged much preferred to postpone the event  until November.
