The Books Help Dairy Farms Comply with
National FARM 5.0 Requirements

With a new version (Version 5.0) of the National Dairy FARM Program just released on July 1, dairy farmers and others can request a free copy of our animal care record-keeping book, which is now designed to include three years of records. Whether you’re a dairy farmer who wants a book for your own operation, or you are a service professional or veterinarian who wants to share them with dairy producers you work with, the record-keeping books make it easier to manage records and comply with guidelines outlined in the National FARM Program. The new version of the record-keeping books have been updated to match FARM Version 5.0 standards and to include space for three years of records related to the FARM Program. Learn more about some of the updates we made to the books.

With more than 4,000 books distributed to date, the record-keeping books are intended to help dairy farmers document standard operating procedures, regular care, treatments of their dairy animals, and other guidelines outlined in the FARM Program. With the recent revisions, one book should now cover three program years for a smaller-sized herd.

Dairy producers can order copies directly for their farm, and veterinarians can order free copies of the books for their dairy clients. Click here to request a free copy of the book to be mailed to you or call the Center at 717-346-0849.

The record-keeping books were compiled by the Center for Dairy Excellence using resources from the National FARM Program, AllTech, the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, Mid-Maryland Dairy Veterinarians, and Valley Mobile Veterinary Services.
