Three More FREE Animal Care Workshops Happening on PA Dairy Farms

You and your dairy employees are invited to three more free, animal care workshops happening this April in Centre, Franklin and Somerset Counties. English and Spanish speakers are invited, and lunch is included along with hands-on training. Find a date and location near you this April:

  • Thursday, April 9, 2026  – 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    Centre County – Breezy Farms
  • Tuesday, April 21, 2026  – 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    Franklin County – Mercer-Vu Farms
  • Tuesday, April 28, 2026 – 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    Somerset County – Pennwood Farms





During each workshop, you’ll rotate through these training areas: 1. Cull Cow Decisions, Down Cows and Transition Cows 2. Animal Handling, Stewardship and Meat Quality Issues 3. Calving Tips and Dystocia Management 4. Farm Safety

  • We’re back on the farm! Enjoy hands-on training and live demos to boost your skills in key areas of the FARM program.
  • Get a certificate at the end of the workshops to put in your files and show your commitment to National FARM and animal care.
  • Get certified in Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) at the workshop if you’re interested.

These workshops are hosted by the Center for Dairy Excellence, PA Beef Council, the Professional Dairy Managers of Pennsylvania (PDMP) and Penn State Extension.
