We are happily finalizing the plans for our fun (and educational!) farm tours during World Dairy Expo. On the afternoons on Tuesday, October 3; Wednesday, October 4; Thursday, October 5, we’ll leave Expo grounds to visit two farms each day.
Our visits include time with key personnel at each farm, an overview and plenty of time for questions. We are looking at Holsteins and Jerseys… big farms, medium-sized farms and smaller farms… farms with on-site, direct sales… farms who use social media to help promote their businesses or even side businesses… and always, farms with great management and business sense!
This farm tours are new this year. Global Cow and Karen Nielsen of Global Dairy Outreach have partnered on the International Dairy Short Course since 2015. Karen organized this training for 1996-2014, for hundreds of people around the world.
Our participants have always loved the on-farm visits, commenting on how valuable it is to be able to talk directly with the farmers themselves. You can join us for one, two or three days–and leave right from World Dairy Expo grounds. It’s a great opportunity to meet dairy enthusiasts from around the world–and see top-notch management practices at the same time. Farm names coming soon!
