Pete Kappelman brings a lifetime of experience to the role of Senior Vice President of Member and Government Relations at Land O’Lakes, Inc., as a successful crop and dairy farmer along with his advocacy experience and board involvement with many agricultural organizations. Pete has been a leader in working with legislators on important ag policy issues including the Farm Bill, climate, trade and immigration. Pete serves as an officer on NMPF’s Executive Committee and leads the organization’s Economic Policy Committee.
Somula Schwoeppe is a fourth-generation dairy farmer in Dubois County, IN. Together with her family, Sam milks 110 registered Holsteins and farms over 400 acres. The Schwoeppe family homesteaded Schwoeppe Dairy LLC and the family has been milking cows continuously since 1874. Schwoeppe is also the senior manager of agri-engagement at Feeding America.
Peter Vitaliano, NMPF’s vice president for economic policy and market research, conducts, communicates and implements economic analysis that supports federation programs relating to dairy policy. NMPF’s longtime chief economist is the longest-serving staff member of the NMPF-USDEC Economics Team; he also has provided economic analysis for Dairy Management, Inc., the national dairy promotion organization, since 1992.
The session will be moderated by Bob Bosold, the Farm Services Director for WAXX/WAYY.
Registration is not required for this event. There is no cost to attend this or other NMPF-affiliated events at World Dairy Expo; however, admission tickets are required to access the World Dairy Expo grounds. Passes can be purchased online or onsite.
