Feed by-products webinar scheduled for July 14

I-29 Moo University is Extension dairy specialists from IA, MN, NE, ND and SD

Dr. Paul Kononoff from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will review by-product feed options for dairy producers.

Paul Kononoff is a native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada with a B.S.A and a M.Sc. in Animal Science from the University of Saskatchewan and a Ph.D. in Dairy Nutrition from The Pennsylvania State University. A dairy nutritionist, he has industry experience as a Technical Support Specialist for Renaissance Nutrition and as a Project Director of the Ruminant Feed Analysis Consortium. Since 2005 Dr. Kononoff has been employed at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as a Dairy Nutrition Extension Specialist.

In collaboration with others, Kononoff develops programs that support dairy management strategies and systems to facilitate profitable and sustainable decisions by dairy farm managers. He has several major areas of dairy nutrition research namely, forage particle size and effective fiber, feed characterization, byproducts, and energy metabolism. Kononoff currently serves as the Editor-In-Chief for the Journal of Dairy Science and serves on the NRC Committee of Nutrient Requirements of Dairy Cattle(8th Revised Edition).
